About the QPL

EVCAN Charge Station Management System (CSMS) QPL

How to Use the QPL

The QPL homepage displays all qualified Charge Station Management Systems (CSMS) that have been verified to meet the EVCAN Technical Specifications. Each listing provides a standardized overview that utilities and program administrators can use to quickly evaluate solutions.

The QPL filters by manufacturer, certifications (such as Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) and DERMS (OpenADR)), primary end use type (commercial, fleet, residential, etc.), and type of charging supported (Level 1, Level 2 or DCFC) to assist the various use cases of utilities and decision makers.

Clicking “View Details” opens the full product data, which utilities and program implementers can use to confirm technical readiness, interoperability, and reporting capabilities.

Download an individual product card as a PDF, or download the entire QPL dataset as an Excel spreadsheet or PDF. This makes it easier to compare product data across multiple systems, helping stakeholders choose the system that best fits their technical and infrastructure needs.

The QPL also includes a feature to view EV supply equipment (EVSE) products that are certified to the leading standard for interoperability, OCPP. Lists brands, models, power ratings, connector types, and the type of OCPP certification.

More about the Technical Criteria

This supplemental information provides guidance on potential interoperability between OCPP certified CSMS software and EVSE hardware reducing integration risks and avoiding vendor lock-in.

Interoperability

In EV Charging, different hardware and software must safely and reliably work together in end-to-end load management across different utilities, aggregators, vehicle types, and chargers. EVCAN-qualified systems comply with industry standards to communicate easily with external entities, and to protect investments in charge station management systems and in electric vehicle supply equipment EV charging infrastructure in a rapidly changing market. For instance, all systems are certified to either IEEE 2030.5 or OpenADR to communicate with aggregator/ DERMS; can deliver energy data reports via API and .CSV file; and are certified to OCPP to minimize the future effort if a CSMS is ever replaced by a different system.

Cybersecurity

All qualified systems have robust cybersecurity certifications to protect the integrity of charging operations, safeguard sensitive user information, and maintain trust in the EV ecosystem. If your use case has particular cybersecurity requirements, you can easily compare the qualifications of various systems on the QPL, to find the best match for your situation.

Grid Flexibility

The CSMS provides functionality that helps to ensure efficient utilization of on-site power resources, minimize operational expenses, and support grid flexibility while meeting the charging demands of electric vehicles. All qualified systems support some basic energy management capabilities. In addition, the QPL shows which systems also support additional “reported” or optional capabilities in energy management. These capabilities have been derived from NEVI Formula Program and CEC requirements, plus standards including IEEE 1547, IEEE 2030.13, CSA SPE 343:21 and UL 3141, in addition to industry best practices.

Data Reporting

Through built-in analytics and reporting, the CSMS securely collects and shares operational data ranging from uptime and charging session details to energy profiles and fault diagnostics. These capabilities help operators optimize performance, ensure reliability, and support compliance, while giving utilities and third parties access to actionable data that strengthens grid integration and service quality.

Performance Reliability

Charge Station Management System (CSMS) need to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous operation of EV charging stations. An EVCAN-qualified CSMS must monitor faults, detect errors, and respond quickly to prevent safety hazards or equipment damage. A qualified Charge Station Management System (CSMS) empowers operators with real-time monitoring, control, and data-driven insights. It provides visibility into each charging station’s status, energy usage, and performance, while enabling remote actions such as resets, firmware updates, and session management.
